Staff VP and National PEO Practice Lead (Professional Employer Organizations)  
Location:  Any Anthem office in IL, ME, NH, CT, NY, CO, NV, GA, IN, OH, KY, MO, VA WI, or CA


Responsible for leading development and execution of strategies to protect and grow membership and related operating gain of Anthem’s PEO (Professional Employer Organizations) book of business. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Explores, defines, and executes overall PEO business development strategy to assess new and current relationships.
  • Represents Anthem as the PEO Business Leader in external and internal forums.
  • Leads all aspects of business activities to protect core membership and defend margins, including geographic and market share growth, retention, relationship management, pricing and renewal strategy.
  • Develops operating model and participation criteria to optimize membership and operating gain. 
  • Engages with Local Market leadership to define and refine execution plans.
  • Tracks impact of participation and adjusts participation criteria as market matures. 
  • Evaluates and leads continuous improvements for distribution strategies.
  • Monitors and adjusts distribution strategy. 
  • Evaluates product and capabilities and develops strategies to drive innovation in offerings and services. 
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Qualifications

Requires a BA/BS; 10 years of experience in strategy, financial analysis and business case development, partnership and contract, execution with direct exposure to health plan P&L operations; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. MBA preferred.

  • Proven PEO (Professional Employer Organization) experience.
  • Track record in business development and growth 
  • Executive presence to successfully interact with external partners, clients, and senior level executives.

Annual Salary Range*: $165,680 - $207,100

Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
