The Legal Specialist, Senior is responsible for providing support in connection with the Diversified Business Group (DBG) division of Anthem, Inc. reporting to the General Counsel of DBG.  The primary responsibility will be the preparation and submission of the necessary regulatory filings needed by the various DBG business entities to operate in all 50 states, including utilization review, third party administrator and preferred provider network licensure applications.  


Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: 
•    Working collaboratively with other legal specialists performing this work
•    Monitoring the status of existing licensure across DBG 
•    Preparing applications and renewals for existing licensure, including the collection of the relevant information, documents and data 
•    Serving as a seasoned resource to business on regulatory filings  
•    Conducting legal research and analysis, and recommend appropriate course of action and next steps. 
•    Performing fact checking, gathers documents, researches and responds to inquiries from regulatory agencies related to licensure. 
•    Applying business knowledge and technical expertise to optimize solutions and improve practices. 
•    Participating in projects. 
•    Entering information into appropriate databases or other document management systems. 



  • Requires Paralegal Certification or an AA/AS/BA/BS in a related field; 10 years of legal or related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.  
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred.  
  • Experience with state filings highly preferred.
