Job Description - Technical Writer I

Responsible for organizing, developing, and documenting business technical information, workflows, processes and procedures of the department.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Gathers, writes, validates and update training material, end user documentation, operations manuals and technical user guides.
  • Conducts interviews to gather information to be documented.
  • Collaborates with the development team in evaluation of documentation needs.
  • Organizes, develops, and documents business technical information, processes and procedures.

Responsible for organizing, developing, and documenting business technical information, workflows, processes and procedures of the department.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Gathers, writes, validates and updates department policies and procedures, operations manuals and technical user guides. 
  • Works with a development team to evaluate documentation needs.
  • Reviews estimates and specifications as they pertain to the deliverables for each customer.
  • Assists with design, development and editing of SharePoint stored material.
  • Communicates implementation of new releases to stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications Technical Writer I

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 1 year experience developing technical communications for targeted audience(s) and/or developing technical writing standards and tools writing; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Possesses a minimal understanding of the technical aspects of products and systems for which documentation is prepared.
  • Experience with technical writing.

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 2 years of technical writing experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience with technical writing
