Engineer Sr/Lead 

Location: Remote - Atlanta preferred, but can be located anywhere within 50 miles of an Anthem location.

Work schedule: Monday – Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm EST with occasional on call weekends

How you will make an impact

Responsible for delivery of end to end application, system development and maintenance on complex multi technology platforms.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Review production failures and provide or review resolutions.
  • Proficient in analytical skills, problem solving and decision-making for design solutions, failure troubleshooting on ETL space.
  • Address data issues raised by application users and provide resolutions.
  • Provides technical advice and weighs in on technical decisions that impact cross functional teams.
  • Develops and owns list of final enhancements.
  • Develops and defines application scope and objectives and prepares technical and/or functional specifications from with programs will be written.
  • Performs technical design reviews and code reviews, technical testing to ensures unit test is completed and meets the test plan requirements, system testing is completed and system is implemented according to plan.
  • Provides technical guidance, lead and mentoring large scale team deliverables.
  • Facilitates group sessions to elicit complex information on requirements clarification, design sessions, code reviews and troubleshooting issues.
  • Architect and design ETL solutions in Informatica, SQL queries and stored procedures, APIs and securing them for internal/external access.

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Engineer Sr.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 years related experience; multi dimensional platform experience; expert level experience with business and technical applications, or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Capabilities, Skills and Experiences:

  • 5 years of experience working with large data warehouses and different warehousing technologies including data flow (ETL) process architecture, design, build and test for analytic software solutions using RDBMS (Teradata), Unix.
  • 5 years of experience with data and analysis, solutioning and end to end traceability.
  • Experience of balancing and control, accounting, process oriented approaches are preferred.
  • Multi database and/or multi language strongly preferred.
  • Experience mentoring others, leading multiple small projects and providing troubleshooting support is preferred

 

Engineer Lead

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years related experience; multi platform, multi-dimensional experience, and expert level experience with business and technical applications; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Capabilities, Skills and Experiences:

  • 7 years of experience working with large data warehouses and different warehousing technologies including Teradata, AWS, Snowflake.
  • 7 years of experience with data flow (ETL) process architecture, design, build and test for analytic software solutions using RDBMS (Teradata), SQL Server, Informatica, Unix.
  • 7 years of experience with advanced scripting on the UNIX operating system to manage files, processes, initiate and control various data-related jobs.
  • 5 years of experience with performance tuning of BTEQ jobs, Informatica mappings/workflow
  • Experience designing, building, and testing analytic software solutions using Big Data technologies (HDFS, Hive, Impala, Kafka, Spark, Scala).
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) development, configuration, setup and monitoring, including core services running on EC2, EMR, S3, CloudWatch, Glue, Lambda
  • Experience working with continuous integration tools.
  • Experience mentoring others and provide troubleshooting support strongly preferred.
  • Multi database and/or multi language strongly preferred.
