Title: DevOps Engineer I / II / III
Location: 50 miles from an Anthem hub

NOTE:  This position can be filled at Engineer I, II, or II level. The hiring manager will determine the level, based on the candidate’s experience and background

Responsible for the delivery of end-to-end system development and maintenance on complex technology systems within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Deploying scalable, highly available systems on AWS
  • Contributing towards Infrastructure design and selecting the correct AWS service based on requirements
  • Design, build and deploy Infrastructure as Code (IaC) 
  • Help develop solutions and enforce DevOps patterns and practices
  • Maintain process documentation, workflow, and architectural diagrams
  • Support DevOps engineers on their implementations
  • Development on medium to large complex customer technology platforms or architectures
  • Maintains active relationships with internal and/or external stakeholder to develop business requirements
  • Analyzes and classifies complex change request and identifies and documents possible system enhancements
  • Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, our products and infrastructure
  • Collaborates with engineers and graphic designers, analyzing and classifying complex change request and reviews and evaluates possible enhancements
  • Works with development team to develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare functional and/or technical specifications
  • Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements.
  • Understands the product and analytics and drive requirements that take into account stakeholders needs.
  • Identifies problems/risks
  • Aids in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts
  • Provides on call support and monitors the system and identifies system deficiencies

 

Qualifications

 

DEVOPS ENGINEER I

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study. 
  • Requires experience working on one platform, one database and/or one system language.  
  • Business application experience strongly preferred.

DEVOPS ENGINEER II

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study 
  • Minimum of 1 year experience on one platform; 
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 
  • Multi database, multi-language or multi business application strongly preferred.

DEVOPS ENGINEER III

  • Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience on one platform, multi database, multi-language or multi business application; 
  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience mentoring others, leading small projects and providing troubleshooting support is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in public cloud – AWS (preferred), GCP, Azure 
  • Experience in Atlassian or similar DevOps tool(s)
  • Experience in end-to-end release automation with XLD/XLR or similar tools (SonarQube, Maven, Akamai) 
  • Experience with the following: 
    • Solution design within AWS public cloud  
  • Experience in implementing DevOps automation with Terraform and Ansible following Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concept
  • Solutions Design with Micro-Container platforms – ECS, Kubernetes (EKS / GKE)
  • Strong knowledge and experience in DevSecOps 
  • Experience in working/administering on Linux/Unix platform 
  • Good Understanding of agile and other development processes
  • Strong knowledge on CI/CD processes and tools, Deploying, configuring, and automating CI-CD Release pipeline
  • Common DevOps scripting languages (Python, BASH, etc.)
  • Understanding of Network, DNS, CDN, etc.
  • Familiarity within common Configuration Management practices
  • Kubernetes / Docker Swarm, Bamboo, Splunk
